Dezi the Firefighter?

This was an absolutely crazy week at work. It seemed every day, there was some new fire for me to put out. ARDs to schedule, ARDs to reschedule, kids to test, reports to write, lather rinse repeat. Don't get me wrong, I absolutely love my job, this was just a really, really, really tough week for me and I'm glad that it is over.
I did go to some training Thursday night for a new ministry at church. It's called LIFT, which stands for Literacy Instruction for Texas. I'll be helping to teach English language basics and literacy to adults who are learning English as a second language. Registration is Tuesday, and the class starts on Thursday. I am really excited about this!
We did have some good-byes to say this week. Sunday evening, we met for dinner with our good friends Josh & Suzanne. They are moving out of state today, actually, and so it was wonderful to catch up with them. We were supposed to go to their going away party last night, but since David and I both got sick, that wound up not happening. So, we'll have to settle for visiting them in Seattle this summer, and, of course, going to Starbucks!
