This is turning out to be an interesting week! David and I went to the youth lock-in on Friday night. I was told by a few of the junior high kids that I "had" to race them on the inflatable obstacle course. So, I did, and, no I did not win. Oh well. I do have some lovely bruises on my legs, thanx to landing wrong on the bottom of the course. I was also told to bring my wedding magazines to the lock-in, so we had a few of the girls looking at them and planning their weddings for a couple of hours. Neither David nor I got any sleep at the church, after he dropped me off, I got about an hour of sleep before going to get Heather and venture off to the bridal show.

We had a great time at the show, I will go into more details on the wedding site.  Sunday, we attended church together. I really enjoyed the sermon! Afterwards, we grabbed a quick bite to eat before going out to Coppell. The youth were supposed to go to Berger Lake in Fort Worth. Well, since it was cool and rainy, they decided to go to the mall and watch movies instead.

Monday night, I went to Main Event with the youth. I played skee-ball, and donated my points to one of the kids standing at the prize counter. To thank me, he got me a slinky! (Which, by the way, it does not walk down the stairs. It goes about one step, then stops.) While I was at the prize counter, one of the new youth counselors kept asking me if I had paid for the whole week. I finally told her that I wasn't a youth! I had another adult and a youth mistake me for a youth as well. Oh well. Thirty years from now, it'll be a good thing. I had a good time playing games, and also pretending to play games.

Last night (besides being a majorly stormy night!) was our last night with the youth at Coppell. It was supposed to be their outdoor River worship service. Due to the rain, it was moved indoors. I had a great time dancing and singing with some of the junior high kids. (The same kids who raced me on the obstacle course.) I will miss the people at that church, but I know that we will come back and visit periodically.

Tomorrow will be an interesting day. Behavioral Innovations is taking all the kids to NRH2O tomorrow! I have never been, but am looking forward to going, although I have no idea what I'm getting myself into, going with the kids from work.

Go make it a great one!

So much has been going on lately! Last week was fantabulous! Thursday night, the Three Chicks (of Gopher Guts fame), along with their brother and David, all went to a concert at Six Flags. It was the One Voice concert series, featuring Pillar, Brick, Supertones and Relient K. We got there in the middle of Pillar. We found our seats, but soon went to the back of the amphitheatre so we could bust a move. And bust a move we did! We had fun doing the macarena, hokey pokey, and whatever else we felt the need to do. It was a total blast!

Saturday, Heather and I had some girl-time. We bought a gift for my cousin's wedding shower, tried on wedding gowns and bought a Relient K cd! Saturday night, David and I baby-sat my cousins. We watched the movie Miracle. I don't think the kids thought much of it, but I really enjoyed it. I definitely want to watch it again when I can pay total attention to it.

Sunday marked an important occasion for David and I. No, it's not an anniversary or anything like that. I have been a member at Prince of Peace Lutheran church for six years. I did a lot with the music ministry and with the children's ministry. I looked forward to Sundays to go to church, and worship there. Meanwhile, David had been attending his church for years as well. However, for reasons I will not discuss here, we decided to find a church to attend together. We were at a wedding last month, and a friend recommended a particular church in Frisco, Grace Avenue United Methodist Church. David and I looked at their website, and found that they are less than ten minutes away from David's apartment. I stayed at Prince of Peace through June, to fulfill my obligations with the music ministry.

July 4th was my first Sunday at the new church. I kept comparing Grace Avenue to Prince of Peace. I kept thinking of how they were so different from each other. Once I mentally made myself stop comparing the two, I enjoyed the service a lot better. Afterwards, I went up and introduced myself to the music minister, told her my experience with Prince of Peace.

This past week, we went to a meeting at Grace Avenue. The purpose was to meet the pastor, and learn more about the church. David and I enjoyed the meeting, and I also got to meet the youth minister. I am excited about the prospect of working with the youth! Well, all this rambling does have a point. (I know it's hard to believe.) On Sunday, David and I joined Grace Avenue. While I was sad to leave Prince of Peace, I am excited about going to church with David. It's a new chapter in our lives!

Starting tonight, is youth week for FUMC Coppell. (We have obligations with the youth at Coppell through August.) They have events planned every day, including rock climbing, whirlyball, and a lock-in. Last October, I was told by a couple of the youth that I "had" to come to the lock-in this year, or they would come kidnap me. I suppose I could call their bluff, but I decided to come anyway. So we'll be getting no sleep Friday night. (Which will be interesting, since we have a bridal show all day Saturday. I'll be spending some quality time at Starbucks on Saturday.)

Well, I need to get ready to go in to work. (Which is also going great, by the way!) Go make it a great one!

This is just too funny. It's one of those things that you can't really picture being a part of the military, but I thought it was neat. You think they'll be recruiting any ukulele players?

Happy birthday to me,
Happy birthday to me.
Happy birthday, dear meeeeeee,
Happy birthday to me!

Twenty-six years old! (But still got mistaken for a youth by adults and youth at camp.)

Home From Camp!. Here is a cute picture!
It's David and fellow Aggie Alan, preparing for a glorious, fun filled, action packed fishing adventure! Yay!

I used up all the pictures on my disposable camera at camp, so I will post those as soon as I get them developed. (I should probably mention that I have about seven rolls of film that need to be developed. Some from three years ago. But I digress...) Anywho, I have so much to report on my week at camp! I had such an awesome experience, unfortunately, I am dead tired and my brain is not functionable at the moment. This'll be a busy weekend, so I'm not quite sure when I'll report on camp, but I will soon. Make it a great one!

Quote of the Day: This was the question of the day at camp on Wednesday: "Do you fold or wad?"
