Well, I'm in a funk. I woke up yesterday morning annoyed at the world. I wasn't really upset at anything, just minor things that ordinarily wouldn't bother me were bugging the heck out of me! Unfortunately, my mood didn't get much better as the day wore on, although I was able to be pleasant around my co-workers at Behavioral Innovations. Even during the concert last night, I was annoyed at little things. I did really, really enjoy the concert, the details of which are coming to my site in the near future!Today was a good day, although I got to experience more tantrums from a particular kid. Let me tell you, it is really hard to keep a neutral expression when a kid is screaming at the top of her lungs while standing two feet away from you. I really wanted some earplugs or something. Then my piano student this afternoon was all over the place. I really wanted to glue her to the piano bench!!! Tonight I went out with some friends, and for the most part had a good time. I came home and started feeling annoyed again. I wish I would cut it out! I feel like that character from Lil' Abner who went around with a rain cloud over his head. Oh well, there's always tomorrow.

Good evening, world! Well, I have had a great weekend! First of all, I found out on Friday that I passed the School Psychologist exam! (The NCSP exam). I was so excited to find that out! David and I went out to dinner to celebrate! I had some fantabulous quesadillas!Saturday, I met up with some of my family for breakfast at Henk's European Deli (which is owned by my aunt's family who originated from Holland!). My Aunt Kathy and Uncle Ted were in town for a wedding, it was good to see them. After breakfast, I had a ton of errands to run, and then went to David's. We then went shopping! I had intended on finding a nice suit to wear at the conference next month, but wasn't having any luck finding anything that I liked in my size. (There's a shock!) I did, however, find a couple of pairs of shoes that I really liked!! Yay! I then found a really great worship cd I liked!
Sunday, we took the youth to see Jesus Christ Superstar and then to the fair. I not only drove to the fair, I drove back and didn't get lost either way! This is huge for me. I thoroughly enjoyed the musical, and want to get the soundtrack. Of course, I've been going around all day today with the music from it stuck in my head!
We then went to the fair. I had my requisite fried food and brought David back some cotton candy. I wanted fried green tomatoes, but since they were out of them, I settled for fried pickles. Which were wonderful, but extremely salty! The kids then wanted to go on all sorts of crazy, wild, head-spinning rides. I would go on some of them normally, but not right after eating. So I supervised and held their purses/cell phones/water bottles while they went on rides. We had a great time!
A side note that was really funny: we have a pumpkin patch at church, which is an outreach to the community, the kids come for field trips, etc. We have volunteers staff the pumpkin patch in shifts throughout the day. Well, when we got back from the fair, they still had the bounce houses up, so some of the girls and I took the opportunity to test out the bounce houses. It was so much fun! And a perfect ending to a great weekend.

Well, sick day number two. I woke up feeling almost as crummy as I did yesterday morning. All that racket going on with the weather outside didn't help. (Although the sound of the rain did lull me back to sleep later.) I went downstairs, refilled my water glass, called into Lake Dallas, and went back to sleep. Right now I feel fairly decent, I'm actually moving around the house, so that's a plus. I think I'll be good to go back to work tomorrow.David called me after youth last night. He came by and brought some tea drink and a box of crackers. I was glad he came, although I wasn't very much fun last night. Thank you, David!!!!

This has been a not-so-great weekend. Friday night, my parents and I went to watch my cousin Deanna play in the football game. Both of the area middle schools played at the high school game. I have three students that play in the band, and I went over and said hello to them. My dad said I should jump in there and play with the band. I decided not to, although I've known their band director since I was in sixth grade, and he probably wouldn't have cared if I did play. Well, about fifteen minutes into the game, it started raining. My mom and I had brought ponchos, my dad was wearing a baseball hat. It then started lightning, so they delayed the game. Plus it started raining pretty hard, so we decided to go home.Once we were home, I called David. I had originally planned to go to his place after we left the game, but since it was so yucky out, I decided that I should stay put. We decided to watch a movie at the same time. We both plugged in My Big Fat Greek Wedding. It took a little bit to get them lined up exactly, but we did it. It was fun watching the movie like that. We were watching the movie and talking on the phone at the same time. Yes, we are dorks but I don't care!!
Yesterday, my mom, my aunt (Deanna's mom) and two other ladies performed on their ukuleles for an Autumn Festival at a local church. I think Mom would have really wanted me to sing with them, but they needed someone in the audience to tell them to play louder or softer, since they had mics on them and their ukes. So we made up hand signals for ukes louder and softer, voices louder and softer, and banjuke louder and softer. Deanna played the tamborine and Linda was on the kazoo at one point, so I made up hand signals for that, too. They sounded great and a good time was had by all. Yesterday afternoon, I hung out at David's and we watched the A&M game. Pizza and football, a good combination. The Aggies won, so David was excited about that. It was a great night.
I couldn't sleep last night. (No, it wasn't because I was excited about the Aggies.) I tossed and turned, and woke up for the umpteenth time around 4:30, feeling horrible. I decided to see what happened, and see if I felt better later on. At 7:30 I was still feeling horrible, so I started calling people at church (choir director, youth minister and children's choir director) to let them know that I would not be there. I don't like being sick at all! Actually, it's more like I don't like being confined to a bed. It drives me nuts just laying there, so I grabbed some books. I've pretty much spent the whole day drifting in and out of sleep. I had some soup for dinner, which is helping a lot. We'll see how I feel tomorrow, I guess.

Dancin' Queen
I was looking for a tape so I could record something on t.v. last night. I found a tape labeled "1986" so I plugged it in to see what was on it, and if I could record over it. I turned it on and saw my own face. It was my dance recital from second grade. I was easy to spot, the smallest one even back then. There I was, tap-dancing for all the world to see. I was not a good tap dancer and it was obvious in the video why I was wise to turn my focus to piano and music. I laughed so hard at myself. Oh well, I was smiling and having a great time dancing. Or, as the song goes,"Having the time of my life...."
