Hello, anyone out there? I know, I have been bad about updating my blog, and I know everyone who reads this site is very upset about it. Both of you. Life in general has been pretty stressful the past few weeks. It's crunch time at work, with wedding stuff and sometimes I feel like I'm being pulled in several directions at once. But that's just part of life, I guess.David went on the Mid-Winter retreat with the junior high, so I was a bachelorette for the weekend. I spent a lot of it with either Heather or Mom. Every year, regardless of boyfriend status, Heather and I would go out together around Valentine's Day. After all, Valentine's Day is not only about showing love to your significant other, but also your family and friends. I gave Heather her present the Thursday before Valentine's Day, and she gave me my present on this past Friday. She said that since it was our last Valentine's with me as a single person, she wanted to spoil me. Which she did! We had a fantabulous time, even took goofy pictures of each other in front of the fountain at the mall. It was a night that I will remember for a long time.
Saturday, Mom and I journeyed out to Dillards, to look at possible china, flatware, stemware and crystal patterns. We found some the we liked, this weekend, I'll show David and see if he approves before we put it on our registry. We had a nice afternoon out, stopping for lunch among other stops. After we got home, I decided to watch Heather's brother's basketball team play, especially since they were playing at a middle school really close to my house.
After the game, Heather and I put ourselves in charge of getting refreshments at Albertsons, where we ran into a mom that I have known since first or second grade. Her son was in the same grade as me, even played the same instrument and lived nearby, so we carpooled a lot. It was neat getting to see her. We visited for awhile, then realized we had a gaggle of hungry thirteen and fourteen year-old boys waiting back at her house so we hurried back. (Heather's dad is the team coach, and had the team over to watch some special basketball thing on t.v.)
Sunday was a good day. I went with my new friend Jennifer out to lunch, at this wonderful pizza place in Frisco. (She and I met a couple of weeks ago at our church's monthly Women's Night Out get together. She's about my age and we hit it off really well.) After lunch, I had intended on waiting for David to get back at his apartment, but stupid Dezi left her key in her coat pocket, on her bed, which made it hard to get into David's apartment. So while I was waiting, I went to Starbucks, changed into my jeans and arrived back at church in time for all of the people who went on the trip to get back. David had a good time on the trip, but he was really tired, and so was I!
I've been really tired this past week, I guess it's stress related, burning the candle at both ends. I'm going to wrap up and go get some beauty sleep. Have a great evening, world!
Quote of the Day: "Okay, we're going to play this song straight through, without stopping." -- stated by Carrollton Wind Symphony director Dave Henning right before playing our last piece of the evening at tonight's rehearsal. We of course, stopped three times.

Good evening! This has been an absolutely crazy week! And it's only Wednesday! This past weekend, David went on a men's retreat with some of the guys from church. While he was away, I spent Saturday shopping! (Shopping is good.) My parents' 30 year anniversary is coming up next week, and I had decided what I was getting them. While in the process of buying their present, I also meandered around the Galleria. I looked at bathing suits (gasp!), clothes, as well as possible Valentine's presents for my parents, David and Heather. It was a lot of fun.Sunday, I went to our Sunday school class. David and I decided to start attending Sunday school, and this was my second week in the class. We saw a neat video from a guy who had been a photographer for National Geographic for thirty years. He was talking about perspective and seeing what is right in a situation, rather than what is wrong. After the video, we were talking about mountaintop experiences. Which was neat, because the Scripture on Sunday was the Transfiguration of Christ. A mountaintop experience, if you will. Which was really neat, that they tied together like that.
Sunday night, the youth praise band led a mini-worship service before going into the lesson. After the Merry Music Maker rehearsal got out (that's the 3-5 year old choir) I went for the praise band rehearsal. We have a kid playing the saxophone. Which is great, but the key he was playing in wasn't the key I had on my music. So I had to transpose on the spot. Right before the worship service. Nice. Luckily, the tune was Amazing Grace, so I knew the tune well enough to find the right notes. It went fine, although I don't like being on the spot like that. Oh well.
Yesterday morning, I woke up not feeling well. I went up to work, but only lasted a couple hours before coming home. Some kind of bug has been going around, and apparently it was my turn to get it. I think I will be able to go work at Behavioral Innovations tomorrow. I don't like being sick, but maybe it is God's way of telling me to slow down.
Oh well, tomorrow is another day!
