David and I saw Star Wars yesterday afternoon. I really enjoyed it, and I know he did as well. I definitely thought it was the best of the prequels. This weekend was a good one. Friday was a sad day, as I had to say good-bye to my friends in Lake Dallas. I am sad to leave, but know that my new job will be good.Saturday, my friend Karen was getting married, so we went to her wedding. The church was really cute, and it was a really sweet ceremony. Karen was beautiful, of course, and they both looked really happy. The reception was fun, David and I had a good time cutting a rug on the dance floor. Heather and Holly were there, I had fun visiting with them, too!
Sunday, after church, Mom and I had the organ consult at St. Andrew. Then it was back to David's to get ready for the luau. A couple of David's Aggie friends were having a party, so we went and had a great time! David found a child-size hula skirt that fit me, along with a lei, so I was dressed for fun! We were all given a lei at the front door, too. I had a good time talking with people, while David played water volleyball. I don't know who won, but they were all having fun playing! Later we enjoyed hanging out in the hot tub. And fun was had by all!

Well, thanx to my wonderful fiance David, my photo gallery is up and running again! Hooray! Thank you, David!!!!This has been an interesting week. It has been a good one for the most part. Tuesday, at Lake Dallas, I was walking into my cubicle, when I saw an envelope with my name on it, resting on my computer. I opened it up, and it was a "Congrats on your wedding" card, which was signed by all the special education staff! Included was a gift certificate from Target. How cool is that? My co-workers said later that there were a few times I was walking into a room while someone was signing the card! Nonetheless, they were able to totally surprise me! It was really sweet of them, and I felt very loved!
Today was my last day at Behavioral Innovations. Which was sad, but it was a good day. I got a box of chocolates from the business manager, JP, and a memo pad and pen from the whole staff. And there was a card signed by everyone. They even had Coke floats! Wow! While we were eating/drinking our floats, they were telling funny Desiree stories. I did get a lot of ribbing, but it was all in fun. Plus I got lots of hugs and was told repeatedly to come back and visit! Which, I definitely will.
Tomorrow is my last day at Lake Dallas. I have made a lot of friends there, and will miss them quite a bit. Saturday is the wedding of one of my friends from high school, Karen. We lived across the street from each other for several years, and now we are going to each other's weddings. Isn't it crazy? It'll be a lot of fun, I am definitely looking forward to it.
Sunday, after church, we have a meeting with the organist at St. Andrew. We have been e-mailing back and forth, and talked on the phone Tuesday night. I'm sure he was amused by me, as I knew exactly what I wanted music-wise. He said all of my music looked fine, so yay! On Sunday I get to hear him play it on that wonderful organ! I can hardly wait!!! Sunday night, David and I are going to a luau party, given by a couple of his Aggie friends. I haven't seen some of them for two and a half years, so I'm really looking forward to the shindig. I'm planning on bringing my ukulele! It's going to be fun.

Well, for the three people who read this site, you may have noticed that my photo albums link has not worked for the past couple of days. I'm not really sure why, but we are working on that, and I will let you know when they are up and running again! And now for something completely different.......A friend mentioned to me (and on his site) about how he and his wife enjoy painting pottery, and they thought that there was a place in Dallas to do that. Well, I found a place yesterday! It's called Paint Yer Pottery and is not too far from where I live! I am excited about checking it out, although I don't know exactly when I'm going to do that. Plus, I have no artistic ability whatsoever, so who knows what I'm going to come up with, but I am excited about the prospect.
Have a great week, everyone!

Well, I have some big news to post tonight. I got a job with Tarrant County MHMR! I will be doing in-home training on behavioral modifications for the MHMR clients. Basically, I will be teaching the parents and families how to work with their child. Mom called it "Psychology 911" or "Psycho 911" for short. The pay is really good, and I will start the Tuesday after Memorial Day. The only drawback is the drive. Since it's in Tarrant county, that will be a lot of time in the car. Oh well, the pay more than makes up for that. Right now, the plan is to work through July 15th, then take off the rest of July. Then I'll come back in August. The past few weeks have been absolutely nuts! With wedding stuff, and work stuff. Since it's the end of the school year, we have all this end-of-year paperwork to fill out. I've been pretty good at documenting when I did things, so filling the papers out won't be bad. Something funny at work, is that I am the person that the special ed staff calls if they need help with something on their computer. Most of the time, I am able to figure it out. I just think it's funny that they are coming to me for advice on computer stuff. I guess David is rubbing off on me.
The Merry Music Makers sang two songs before the older choirs did their program, this past Sunday. I thought all of the kids did great. I received a couple of gifts, which really surprised me. From the congregation, I got a bouquet of flowers, from the music minister I got a really nice-scented candle, and from my co-director, I received a faith box pendant. (I gave her a gift a couple weeks ago.) The parents were all excited about seeing their kids perform, and it was a really fun evening.
I've added a couple more friends to my "Friends" side bar, and a couple of albums as well. I hope everyone enjoys the pictures!

Hooray!!!!! Introducing my new and improved blog! Yay!!!! I added some sidebar items to the wedding site and decided since my site is getting a new name, it needed to have some changes made, too! Note the sidebar items on this site! We have links to my friends' sites, links to sites I like, links to different photo albums and a calendar of events! The best part about it, is that I did it all on my own. Me! Desiree Michelle Muse, the non-technical, non-computer person. I figured out how to do it basically by trial and error. I'm pretty pleased with the results. I'd been needing something for stress relief (not that I have anything going on in my life that might be stressful), and who ever thought I'd turn to web design? Let me know if you have any links I should add or suggestions!
